TiviMate Setup Guide 2026: The Ultimate IPTV Player for Android & Firestick

Complete TiviMate setup guide for Firestick and Android TV. Installation, Xtream Codes login, EPG config, recording, multi-view, and tips.

TiviMate is the most powerful IPTV player available for Android devices and Amazon Firestick. It offers a polished TV-like interface, fast channel switching, a full EPG grid, DVR recording, multi-view, favorites management, and deep customization options that no other IPTV player matches. If you use a Firestick or Android TV box for IPTV, TiviMate should be your first choice.

This guide covers everything from installation to advanced features. By the end, you will have TiviMate fully configured with your IPTV service running smoothly.

If you need an IPTV subscription to use with TiviMate, start a free 24-hour trial with IPTVBROS — it supports Xtream Codes API, which is the recommended login method for TiviMate.

What Is TiviMate?

TiviMate is a free IPTV player app for Android-based devices. Like IPTV Smarters Pro, it does not include any channels or content on its own. You need a separate IPTV subscription that provides login credentials, and TiviMate connects to that service and displays the channels, VOD, and EPG data.

TiviMate comes in two versions:

  • TiviMate Free — Basic playback, single playlist, limited features.
  • TiviMate Premium ($4.99/year or $19.99 lifetime) — Unlocks recording, multi-view, multiple playlists, catch-up TV, scheduled recordings, and auto-updates.

Premium is strongly recommended. The free version is useful for testing, but the real power of TiviMate comes with Premium features.

TiviMate vs IPTV Smarters Pro: Which Should You Use?

Both are excellent IPTV players, but they serve different audiences.

Setting Up Xtream Codes Login in TiviMate

Xtream Codes is the recommended connection method. It provides full integration with your IPTV provider’s features including organized categories, EPG, VOD, series, and catch-up TV.

What You Need

Your IPTV provider will give you three pieces of information:

  • Server URL — Example: http://server.example.com:8080
  • Username — Your account username
  • Password — Your account password

IPTVBROS sends these credentials in your welcome email after you subscribe or start a free trial.

Adding Xtream Codes in TiviMate

  1. Open TiviMate.
  2. Go to Settings > Playlists > Add Playlist.
  3. Select Xtream Codes.
  4. Enter the Server URL, Username, and Password.
  5. Click Next.
  6. TiviMate will process the playlist. This may take 30 seconds to 2 minutes depending on the size of the channel list.
  7. Once loaded, you will see your channels organized by category.

For a deeper explanation of Xtream Codes, see our Xtream Codes API guide.

Configuring EPG (Electronic Program Guide)

TiviMate has the best EPG experience of any IPTV player. The TV-style grid guide shows what is currently playing, what is coming next, and lets you browse programs across all channels.

If you connected via Xtream Codes, TiviMate usually pulls EPG data automatically from your provider. No additional setup is needed.

  1. After adding your playlist, go to Settings > EPG.
  2. Ensure Auto-update is enabled.
  3. Set the update interval to Every 4 hours or Every 8 hours.

Manual EPG URL

If your EPG is not loading automatically, you may need to add an EPG URL manually.

  1. Go to Settings > Playlists.
  2. Select your playlist.
  3. Scroll to EPG and enter the EPG URL provided by your IPTV service.
  4. Click Update EPG.

EPG Display Settings

To customize the EPG grid appearance:

  1. Go to Settings > EPG.
  2. Adjust EPG Time Range (how many hours are shown on screen).
  3. Set Past Programs to show or hide programs that already aired.
  4. Enable Channel Logo in EPG for visual identification.

For more on EPG setup across different apps, see our IPTV EPG guide.

Recording and DVR Setup (Premium)

One of TiviMate Premium’s standout features is the ability to record live TV and schedule recordings — something most IPTV players do not support.

Setting Up Recording Storage

  1. Go to Settings > Recordings.
  2. Select Recording Path.
  3. Choose a location: internal storage, USB drive, or external hard drive.
  4. USB drives are recommended for long recordings to avoid filling up internal storage.

Recording a Live Channel

  1. While watching a channel, press the OK/Select button on your remote.
  2. Select the Record icon (circle icon).
  3. The channel will begin recording immediately.
  4. Press the Record icon again to stop.

Scheduling a Recording

  1. Open the EPG guide.
  2. Navigate to a future program.
  3. Select the program and choose Record.
  4. TiviMate will automatically start and stop recording at the scheduled time.

Storage Requirements

Recording storage depends on the stream quality:

QualityStorage per Hour2-Hour Movie
SD (480p)~1.5 GB~3 GB
HD (720p)~2.5 GB~5 GB
Full HD (1080p)~4 GB~8 GB
4K (2160p)~10 GB~20 GB

A 128 GB USB drive can store approximately 30 to 50 hours of HD content.

For more on recording IPTV, see our IPTV recording guide.

Multi-View: Watch Multiple Channels at Once (Premium)

TiviMate Premium supports multi-view, allowing you to watch up to 9 channels simultaneously on one screen. This is ideal for sports fans who want to follow multiple games at once.

How to Use Multi-View

  1. Start watching a channel.
  2. Press and hold the OK/Select button on your remote.
  3. Select Add to Multi-View.
  4. Navigate to another channel and repeat.
  5. TiviMate will display the channels in a split-screen grid.

Multi-View Tips

  • Audio plays from the focused (highlighted) channel. Press the directional buttons on your remote to switch audio focus.
  • Multi-view requires a strong internet connection. Each stream uses bandwidth, so 4 simultaneous HD channels need approximately 40 Mbps.
  • On lower-powered devices like basic Firesticks, limit to 2 to 4 channels to avoid performance issues. For best multi-view performance, use a device like the Nvidia Shield or Firestick 4K Max.

Managing Favorites and Channel Groups

TiviMate makes it easy to create custom channel groups so you can quickly access the channels you watch most.

Adding Channels to Favorites

  1. While browsing the channel list, highlight a channel.
  2. Press and hold the OK/Select button.
  3. Select Add to Favorites.
  4. The channel is now in your Favorites group.

Creating Custom Groups

  1. Go to Settings > Groups.
  2. Select Create Group.
  3. Name your group (e.g., “Sports,” “News,” “Kids”).
  4. Add channels to the group by selecting them from the full channel list.

Hiding Unwanted Channel Groups

If your IPTV provider delivers thousands of channels across many categories, you can hide groups you do not watch:

  1. Go to Settings > Playlists > select your playlist > Groups.
  2. Uncheck the groups you want to hide.
  3. Only the selected groups will appear in the channel list.

This keeps your channel list clean and makes navigation faster.

TiviMate Player Settings and Optimization

Choosing the Right Player Engine

TiviMate offers multiple player engines:

  • ExoPlayer (Default) — Works well for most streams. Recommended for Xtream Codes connections.
  • Android System Player — Uses the device’s built-in media player. Try this if ExoPlayer has issues.
  • External Player — Send streams to VLC or MX Player for advanced codec support.

To change the player: Settings > Player > Decoder.

Buffer Size

If you experience buffering, adjust the buffer size:

  1. Go to Settings > Player > Buffer Size.
  2. Increase from the default value. Try Medium or High.
  3. Higher buffer sizes use more RAM but reduce playback interruptions.

For more buffering fixes, see our IPTV buffering fix guide.

Stream Format

If a channel is not playing, try changing the stream format:

  1. While watching a channel, open Settings > Player > Stream Format.
  2. Switch between MPEGTS and HLS.
  3. Some channels work better with one format over the other.

TiviMate Premium: How to Activate

Step 1: Create a TiviMate Companion Account

  1. On your phone or computer, go to tivimate.com.
  2. Download the TiviMate Companion app from the Google Play Store.
  3. Create an account and purchase a Premium subscription ($4.99/year or $19.99 lifetime).

Troubleshooting Common TiviMate Issues

Channels Not Loading

  • Verify your IPTV subscription is active. Check your account or contact your provider.
  • Re-enter your Xtream Codes credentials. A single typo in the server URL, username, or password will cause a failure.
  • Try switching between Xtream Codes and M3U connection methods.

EPG Not Showing

  • Go to Settings > EPG and click Update EPG.
  • Ensure your provider’s EPG URL is correct.
  • Set auto-update to every 4 to 8 hours.

App Crashing or Freezing

  • Clear the app cache: Firestick Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > TiviMate > Clear Cache.
  • Ensure you are running the latest version of TiviMate. Re-download from tivimate.com if needed.
  • Restart your Firestick by unplugging it for 30 seconds.

Recording Not Working

  • Ensure you have TiviMate Premium activated.
  • Check that your recording path has available storage space.
  • For USB recording, ensure the USB drive is formatted as FAT32 or exFAT and is properly mounted.
